"Morozenko" by Panas Myrny is a story about a boy who, in a severe frost, went to his godfather to sprinkle on the New Year in order to get something edible for the family, and froze. The problem of the peasant poverty sounds acutely in the work, other stories belong to the author's pen, in particular, "As it is done, so it is lived", "Among the steppes", etc.
