The Torah (Hebrew: תּוֹרָה, "Instruction", "Teaching" or "Law") is the first part of the Tanakh, the Hebrew Bible. It contains the first five books (Pentateuch or Five Books of Moses), namely (in their commonly used names) Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy.
