The volume gives an overview of various aspects of preschool education. The first section discusses the institutional conditions in Germany. In the second section pedagogical and psychological basics are presented. In the last section new examples to promote children with special needs are pointed out (e.g. speech therapy, intergenerational models, and cognitive giftedness).
