Nisargadatta (1897-1981) was a well-known advaitic sage of India. He lived with his family in Bombay and owned a cigarette shop. After meeting his guru Siddharameshwar Maharaj, he realised the Self by devoting himself to the "I Am," as his teacher taught him. After that, many seekers visited him. With Maurice Frydman's book "I Am That", he also became known in the West.
