POKO come back

I lives with family in AUSTRIA/E U 

We are all

big ANIMAL–and NATURE–Friends. This lovingly

designed work „POKO“ by heart, was written

already in >German_Language(Austria)<

publish/online January 2018. 

I have tried to

make the translation MEANINGFUL, and politely

ask for indulgence, as ENGLISH is not

my „mother_tongue“. Please indulgence !

STORK *P O K O* JABARI comes back

Once morning at the end of APRIL ( in state AUSTRIA ) ……

Oh oh oooohhhh – what is THAT – high in the sky ?

IT is getting closer and closer – flies in the direction

of a DUCK_DRAKE(=“ERPEL“) THIS is not a plane or

helicopter and makes no noise. But that’s a big BIRD !

I will wave him with my wings – mister DRAKE thinks.

Yes – he has noticed me and comes down in a spiral

ever deeper and deeper – chatters excitedly

Sir „BOTTLES_DUCK“. Such a very BIG BIRD - I’m afraid =

I hope HE does not eat me – sighs the Duck_Drake.

Hello - ask for mercy ! I hope it ust no LAKE_EAGLES !

That’s not to be believed = it is a proud big

color white „S T O R K“. Now it is „ADEBAR“ above me.

I recognize Mister „WHITE_STORK(=ADEBAR)“ !

HURRAY ….. hurray ! You really are !

I greet You = my friend >ADEBARi< !

I greet You Mister DUCK (=ERPELius) replies joyfully

rattling, the very exhausted Mister S T O R K.

He knocks the DRAKE on his chest with his right foot-

while he stands breathless only on the left of his tall

thin storklegs. 

The STORK asks the DUCK:

„Your name was - >D U F F Y<“ ?

„Quite right! – Fine, how you can remember after such

a long time“! …… One calls you as „ADEBAR“ - your

name is = >J A B A R I< ….. the DRAKE chatters.

The „ADEBAR“ rattles: „Remember correctly Sir >DUFFY<

„ERPELius“(=Drake)! Yes, my stork-parents – you know

her yes – gave me the name >THE BRAVE/COURAGEOUS<

(translated >JABARI<) = 

„P O K O    J A B A R I“.

„Great noble name = friend JABARI“ - nods DUCK-Drakes

Mister „DUFFY“. „But why did you get this NOBLE name?“

….„It was on one big village-pond, here in a village nearby

….my STORK_SISTERS have just been attacked by a nasty

>Water-Snake< …..the daily from this pond fishes and frogs

hunt and consume ……. I quickle jumped and grabbed this

old-long >RINLET_VIPER(=grass_snake)< just behind their

head. The snake wanted to bite me, but I have legs for

so long – that it did not reach my body that fast.

I threw her on a thorn-bush – where the serpent was

the sky“. „But, that was a dangerous story“ ---

„We are born in EUROPA – my many relatives are born

here in AUSTRIA (many in region „BURGENLAND“).

My parents and now also we young_storks fly to

CENTRAL_AFRICA …. to the huge >VICTORIA-LAKE< in

East. Some even further to SOUTH_AFRICA

(fly-routes to 10.000 kilometers). That’s why our whole

name is >Poko V I C T O R Jabari< and my younger

sisters >V I C T O R I A DJAMILA<(= the „BEAUTY“) +

>V I C T O R I A NYOTA<(= the „BRIGHT / BEAM“)

The >DUCKBILL< puzzles his head …… we have several

lakes and ponds and rivers here“.

Mister STORK smiles with his long beak and answers

Friendly: „This >VICTORIA-LAKE< is very rich in FISHES

and the third_largest LAKE in the world = at the

same time the second_largest FRESHWATER_LAKE

in the world(almost as big as „IRELAND“ or „BAVARIA“

of GERMANY). It is located in three states: TANZANIA,

UGANDA and KENYA ….. and there are also big famous

ones >SERENGETI-SAVANNAH< … and this became a

„NATIONAL-PARK (= National Nature Reserve Zone)“.

There we live 3 years without the cold WINTER in

EUROPE (we would not find any food either).
