FFD is for 12 years now a CONTINUOUS PASSION for creations and innovations in fabrics, threads, needlework, textile, patchwork and knitting.
At the beginning, FFD is a FAMILY STORY, Julie the daughter and Marie-Claude her mother. From time to time, the sister and the dad are also part of the game! And before them, Odette the grandmother, a self-educated needlewoman was creating dresses and many other works based on threads and fabrics. This creative virus is definitly in the blood of those girls.

Template A : Cut 3 ¾ in (9,5cm) square will give you one patch of Template A. Cut 1 in Fabric N°9, 1 in Fabric N°11, 1 in Fabric N°12, 1 in Fabric N°16, 1 in Fabric N°17, 1 in Fabric N°18, 2 in Fabric N°2, 2 in Fabric N°6, 2 in Fabric N°7, 2 in Fabric N°10 and 2 in Fabric N°14. Total 16 patches.
Template B : Cut 7in (17,5cm) square will give you one patch of Template B. Cut 1 in Fabric N°2, 1 in Fabric N°5, 1 in Fabric N°6, 1 in Fabric N°7, 1 in Fabric N°8, 1 in Fabric N°9, 1 in Fabric N°10, 1 in Fabric N°11, 1 in Fabric N°12, 1 in Fabric N°1 3, 1 in Fabric N°14 and 1 in Fabric N°15. Total 12 patches.
Template C : Cut 12 3/8 in (31,5cm) strips across the width of the fabric. Each strip will give you 3 patches per full row. Cut 2 in Fabric N°2, 3 in Fabric N°1. Total 5 patches.
Template D : Cut 2 in (5cm) strips across the width of the fabric. Each strip will give you 3 patches per full row. Cut 4 in Fabric N°3. Total 4 patches.
Template E : Cut 1 1/8 in (3cm) strip across the width of the fabric. Each strip will give you 3 patches per full row. Cut 1 in Fabric N°4. Total 1 patch.
Template F : Use the same strip as Template E. Cut 1 in Fabric N°4. Total 1 patch.
Template G : Cut 2 in (5cm) strip across the width of the fabric. Each strip will give you 1 patch per full row. Cut 1 in Fabric N°4. Total 1 patch.
Template H : Cut 2 in (5cm) strip across the width of the fabric. Each strip will give you 1 patch per full row. Cut 1 in Fabric N°4. Total 1 patch.
Template I : Cut off 8 in x x10 ¼ in (20cm x 26cm) patch : 1 in Fabric N°4 (for the bow tie)
Template J : Cut off 1 5/8 in x 3 ¼ in (4cm x 8cm) patch : 1 in Fabric N°4 (for the bow tie)
Binding : Cut 2 strips 2 in (5cm) wide across the width of the fabric in Fabric N°4. Cut 2 strips 2 in (5cm) wide across the width of the fabric in Fabric N°5.
Backing : Cut 1 piece 43in x 43in (110cm x 110cm) in backing fabric.
Quilt assembly diagram :
MAKING THE QUILT : Lay out the fabrics patches as shown in the quilt assembly diagram. Join the small squares first in 4 rows of 4 patches. Add the 2 thin side borders. Join the medium squares on the left side : 2 rows of 2 patches. Then 2 rows of 4 patches on the top. Add the 2 side borders. Join two large squares with Template D between them on the left side, then 3 large squares with Template D in between on the top.
