In Finland the car was sold with the Slogan: Strong quality Lada. The nickname for
this model was Button-years it had two round headlights. There were a lot of these on
Finnish roads in the late 1970s. Mainly because for there was a barter trade with is now Russia.
A lot of materials such as wood crude oil and a few low-cost refined produts
such as Lada cars were imported to Finland. At its best in the 1980s, about 15.000
Lada were sold in Finland per year. Later in the 1990s. Lada cars was quickly sold back
from Finland to private individuals in Russia, which was then liberated and changed.
Ladan valmistusmaa oli aikoinaan Neuvostoliitto (CCCP).
Suomessa autoa myytiin iskulauseella: Lujaa Laatua Lada. Tämän mallin (kuvassa) lempinimi oli
Nappisilmä, koska siinä oli pyöreät ajovalot. Näitä liikkui Suomen teillä 1970-luvulla
todella paljon. Pääosin siksi että silloin nykyisen Venäjän kanssa tehtiin vaihtokauppaa.
Tuotiin paljon raaka-aineita puuta, raakaöljyä ja harvoja jalostettuja tuotteita kuten Lada
henkilöautoja. Parhaimmillaan 1980-luvulla Suomessa myytiin Ladoja 15.000kpl/vuosi.
Myöhemmin 1990-luvulla Ladat myytiin Suomesta nopeassa tahdissa takaisin yksityishenkilöille
silloin vapautuneelle ja muuttuneelle Venäjälle.
