This handbook contains uniform series sinking fund (USSF) factors for ne‐ gative and positive interest rates. Due to the development at the interna‐ tional financial markets negative interest rates are relevant for the valua‐ tion of investments. This book offers you a very simple, quick and effec‐ tive way to calculate a uniform series of payments (payment in arrears) based on a given cash flow/ future value (FV). Therefore it uses the ,factor method´. Learn to use the method in some minutes. It´s so easy! Just mul‐ tiply the cash flow/ future value with the USSF factor. That´s all.

The uniform payment series based on future value (FV)
The uniform payment series (payment in arrears) is the result of dis‐ counting and distributing a future value (FV) with the interest (i) over a specific time (n years). Possible taxes or friction costs are ignored! In the following tables you will find the uniform series sinking fund (USSF) fac‐ tors.
The USSF factors based on the calculation for one payment unit (1 $). For the calculation of the uniform payment series you have just to multiply the USSF factor with the future cash flow (future value) you want to dis‐ tribute.

How to find the USSF‐factor in the tables
You just have to search for the interest rate you like to use for discounting (column in the table) and the number of years (rows) for the distribution.
Uniform series calculation with USSF‐factors
Example:
We search the annuity (uniform annually payment series, (payment in ar‐ rears) of a future cash flows of 10,000 $ in 10 years. The interest rate is 10 percent.
In this case, the future cash flow of 10,000 $ has to be multiplied with the USSF factor of 0.06274539 (see table). The value of the annuity is 627,45 $.
