1 Treatment strategy

In radiotherapy, care must be taken to ensure adequate energy and nutrient supply, whereby the individual symptoms must be considered in the dietary therapy. A further main note is the often occurring lack of nutrition. A healthy, balanced mixed food is to provide all the necessary nutrients as well as vitamins and minerals, paying particular attention to the adequate protein supply.

If organs of the digestive system or areas of the mouth are inflamed, special attention should be paid to other special diet.

2 Avoid

High-dose antioxidants in the form of food supplements can adversely affect the effects of radiation therapy, but the antioxidant content in fruits and vegetables when required for consumption is considered harmless.
