This changes, when he gets an assignment to transport a data carrier to Earth. For him, it sounds like a simple mission, and he will get a lot of money for that. But along the way, some unknown people attack and try to eliminate him. They want the data carrier. It seems that there is something special on it, which is worth to kill for.
