Each chapter addresses the content of each of the domains and provides the reader with think points, these are included in order to help encourage and motivate, as well as for the reader to assess their learning. The think points provide answers or suggestions and encourage the reader to delve deeper and to seek other sources, both human and material to help with their responses.
The aim of Becoming a Nurse in the 21st Century is to encourage, motivate and instil in the reader the desire, confidence and competence to become a registered nurse. This text is primarily intended for nursing students, health care assistants, those undertaking SNVQ/NVQ level of study, those returning to practice or anyone who intends to undertake a programme of study leading to registration as a nurse. The terms and principles included in this book can be transferred to a number of health care workers at various levels and in various settings, in order to develop their skills for caring.
